Mother and Son: Learning Together

My child loves the arts, something I know nothing about, so I brought him to CAA after learning about the Creative Arts Program. When he first joined the program, he had a bad temper and couldn’t sit still. However, from his involvement in CAA, particularly through the music program, his temper difficulties became much less of an issue. Before joining CAA’s Creative Arts Program, he knew nothing about music or art. Now he knows so much, and looks forward to the program each week. Throughout the process, I also learned about the arts and began to enjoy it. I am also in the monthly Parent Support Group, and enjoy being able to meet the parents in the group. Very few people understand what it’s like to have a child with autism, but with the other parents in the group, we can support each other and have a mutual understanding.
