Center for All Abilities (CAA) will be moving its office (within the same Chinatown/LES area) this April!
This move marks both a transition and new beginnings for CAA. We are excited to embrace change and see what new opportunities arise for our families.
We are inviting CAA program families, and friends of CAA (volunteers, supporters, collaborators, etc) to:
Participate in a mural contest by submitting designs for a mural for our new office.
Vote on two winning designs.
Help paint the mural!
Mural Contest Criteria
Please create a piece of art that shows new beginnings or change, that can serve as a visual representation of the existing future ahead of us. Some ideas can include the changing of the seasons, the creation of a family, or an illustration of your favorite story about new beginnings.
The winning submissions will be painted on two 24 x 36 inch canvases that will hang in our new office. Please submit one art work that fits the following requirements:
Uses no more than four colors
Uses 2D materials such as paint, markers, or colored pencils
Fits one of the following dimensions: 6 x 9 inches OR 12 x 18 inches
Voting
After submissions, entries will be voted on for two art works to be enlarged and transferred to canvases that will be hung in CAA’s new office.
Prizes
All entrants will have a chance to win one of five $20 giftcards via a raffle.
Designers of TWO winning entries with the highest number of votes will each be awarded with a $75 giftcard and a handmade CAA tie-dye tote bag full of goodies!
Mural painting
Families and friends of CAA are invited to join us in painting the mural as a community on Saturday April 1, 2023. All supplies will be provided. Stay tuned for more details.
In celebration of your support and Autism Acceptance month in April, all CAA children and youth who participate in painting the mural will receive with an art pack with handpicked supplies to encourage art-making at home and elsewhere.
Submission deadline: March 20, 2023.
Voting period: March 21 - 27, 2023.
Winners announced: March 28, 2023 at CAA’s Pop-Up Cafe event
